Here’s the perfect recipe for a gorgeous summers day Lake Monger Reserve Wedding. Take two Olympic gold medallist romantics, holding hands by a big tree, with all their family and friends there to give all their love and support. It’s that simple, especially when you have a bond like Kimmy and Matt.
Before everyone arrived for the nuptials at the couples Lake Monger Reserve Wedding, there was still so much to do though!! Family gathered first in the early hours of the morning for their traditional Chinese tea ceremony, exchanging gifts and wishing the soon to be wedded couple well for their future.
Remember I said they were super romantics. Well the first stage of this thoughtful and often quirky love fest was setting some time aside privately to share gifts for each other. I’ll come back to more of these shenanigans later on.
Our Bride and Groom broke tradition and chose a blend of both their best guy and girl pals to help celebrate and get ready. Wedding photographers love it when couples dare to be different. I personally love a little mash up of styles in my photos. After a few attempts at some tricky bow ties and scattering some petals practice from our gorgeous flower girl it was time to hit the road.
The guys had done a great job with picking their ceremony location. A slight breeze in their air kept everyone cool and as Kimmy walked down with her proud parents Albert and Julie. Matt’s jaw was on the floor when he first laid eyes on Kimmy and their guests we’re just as awestruck.Kimmy was wearing a sensational gown from the crew at Loui Col Design here in Perth, her gorgeous bouquet by Maminkwink.
After being pronounced Husband and Wife by their good friend and Celebrant Andrew Norman, cheers and tears flowed from everyone there to witness true love.
But the good times didn’t stop there. We rolled onto the streets of Leederville for some shots of the gang together and then Gusto Gelato. A place where Matt and Kimmy have shared a few scoops… Ok, I’ll eat ice cream as well…my job is pretty awesome. Later on for a little last light loving, Perth’s newest married couple spent some alone time by the sea near City Beach. Need I say more about this place.
As far as wedding receptions go, this one was pretty action packed. It had all the usual stuff, heartfelt speeches, delish food, dancing and countless cries of “YUNG SING”. But then this is where Mr Romantic himself stepped up his game. First it was wooing not just his new wife, but also ALL the ladies in DA HOUSE with a choreographed dance with his groomsmen. It was like being at a Back Street Boys concert, the lads could seriously move and lip sync. Wait there’s more…you know that song from the movie the Wedding Singer that he plays with Billy Idol on the plane to get Drew Barrymore back….YEP he sung that too with his Brother backing him on guitar. Talk about making the rest of us guys look bad.
With that, I’ll leave you to check out the slideshow, I wish I could’ve fit in more but it’s already crazy long. Thanks again for having us there, it means the world to us being asked to capture your day. BIG LOVE to you both for 2018 and beyond.
